Beginning Workshops:
- July 1st, 8th, 15th, or 22nd
- BYOI (Bring Your Own Instrument)
- $30 each class, includes book

- Kids Guitar (ages 7-11) 10:00am-10:45am: Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of playing guitar including care, terminology, tuning, and tips on how to practice. Basic chords and strumming will be demonstrated and learned so students can play a full song by the end of the workshop. This is a great workshop for kids who are interested in guitar and thinking of starting lessons in the future. Hal Leonard Guitar Method book will be provided.
- Ukulele (ages 10 and up) 11:00am-11:45am: Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of playing the ukulele including instrument parts and terminology, care, tuning, and how to practice. Learning basic strumming styles, 3-4 chords and how to put these elements together will then be covered. At the end of the workshop, students will be able to play their first song! Jumpin' Jim's Ukulele book will be provided.
- Guitar (ages 12 and up) 12:00pm-1:00pm: The guitar is a fun versatile instrument that anyone can play with a little practice, patience, and inspiration. This workshop will focus on the fundamentals of playing the guitar including care, terminology, tuning, and tips on how to practice. Different styles of playing will be demonstrated as well as suggestions on how to play with singers. Students will leave having learned their first song on guitar. Hal Leonard Guitar Method book will be provided.
Rock Band Camp:
- Tuesday and Fridays 12pm-2pm
- July 7th-July 28th
- Concert on Saturday, July 29th

In this class participants will explore;
Road maps to music: Every musical genre has a way to communicate. Classical, jazz, rock, blues, and others have their own terminology specific to their own genre. Coda signs, repeat signs, 1st and 2nd endings, etc. are tools for musicians to keep track of where everyone is in the song. Equalizing and blending the tone and volume of instruments as well as effective verbal and nonverbal communication with your bandmates will be explored.
Improvisation: Students will have the opportunity to learn the basics of rock improvisation and how to improvise. Soloing students will be shown how to use scales for improvisation and a concept called comping for chord players.
This workshop series is designed for all ages and abilities! Everyone will be able to participate and perform in the concert! Students can be reading traditional music notation, tablature, or playing by ear.
Parts will be arranged for each instrument and the student’s skill level. (Suggestion are welcome so don’t be shy.)
Open to keyboards, guitars (acoustic and electric), bass, string instruments, brass, woodwinds and drums. Students can swap instruments per song so multiple instrument players are welcome.
Ukulele Day Camps:

- July 5th- Level 1: This camp is designed for kids with little to no ukulele experience. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of playing the ukulele including instrument parts and terminology, care, tuning and how to practice. Basic strumming styles, learning 3-4 chords and how to put these elements together will then be covered. The camp will be broken down into sections including introductions, individual attention, small group work, incorporating singing into practice, teacher demonstrations, and student performances at the end of the day. Kid's Ukulele Activity Book will be included.
- July 12th- Level 2: This camp is designed for kids with some ukulele experience. The basics of playing the instrument and tips on keeping up with good practice habits will be reviewed. Students will learn several new songs and be introduced to concepts of playing with others and incorporating singing into their practice. Full class and small group work, as well as performance, will help students gain the confidence to move toward new and challenging goals in their ongoing musical journeys. Jumpin' Jim's Uke book will be provided.
- July 19th- Disney for Uke: This camp is designed for students with some ukulele education, which can include the completion of the July 5th Level 1 camp. The basics of playing the instrument and tips on keeping up with good practice habits will be reviewed. The main focal points of this camp will include repertoire, playing together and solo as well as incorporating singing into practice. Discussions of why we like certain songs (such as Disney songs) and what makes the music sound happy/nostalgic/sad/excited will round out the student's musical education. Student performance at the end of the day will show off all that's been learned. Disney Hits for Ukulele book will be provided.
- July 26th - Combined Ukulele Levels: This camp is for all levels of ukulele players. The emphasis will be on playing together and the importance of working as a team when it comes to music. Students will learn several new songs with basic chord progressions which can be played at a beginner or intermediate level. Focusing on the value of incorporating singing into practice will also be covered. Small group work will mix students of different levels together so each student can find their very individual strengths. Group and solo performances at the end of the day will conclude this super fun camp. 3-Chord Songs for Ukulele book will be provided.
