Composed by Duke Ellington and arranged by jazz composer and transcriber, David Berger, "Limbo Jazz" is a calypso-swing for the young player. Based on the simple chord progression to "Happy Birthday to You," the chart provides for the rhythm section to play a simple even eighth note style and the winds to play with a slight swing feel. It all comes together just right. This chart includes easy ranges and written solos for alto sax, trumpet, and trombone along with great fun and history, too! Includes all the usual optional parts. Part of the new Jazz For Young People series and correlated to the Jazz at Lincoln Center Jazz for Young People Curriculum. (3:29)
