Arranger Steve Parsons scored a hit recently with his clever Christmas chart called “Sleighin’ It,” and this new arrangement picks up where that one left off. It is “Up on the Housetop” with a funky Motown groove. Wailing horn licks and a rockin’ rhythm section make this a surefire hit at your holiday concert.

This tune answers the eternal question: what would happen if the Jackson 5 took a crack at “Up On The Housetop”? I know many people that should sleep better knowing that I’ve got them covered here, so they can wonder no more! But seriously…what better way to ring in the holidays than with a familiar Christmas classic converted into Motown bliss? Tongue firmly in cheek, this chart really melts away the winter snow with that oh-so-iconic groove we’ve come to know and love. On that note, if your Guitar player really wants to bring out the fuzz on several key riffs, I wouldn’t stand in their way. Those pedals need to be used!
