The metal ring is attached to your seat by lifting one leg of the chair or stool and placing it down inside the ring. The slot at the other end accepts your instrument’s endpin and uses your weight to keep the endpin from sliding away from you during performances, rehearsals, lessons, or recording sessions. The cylindrical shape of the slot matches the shape of the endpin, surrounding it on all sides to prevent the pin from slipping out.
